Set up deposits

With deposits, you can require customers to pay (part of) the treatment upfront when booking. This reduces no-shows and secures your income.

Requirements

  • You must first connect your Stripe account (see: Connect your Stripe account)
  • Online payments must be enabled in Settings → Payments

Set up a deposit per service

Each service can have its own deposit:

1. Go to Services

  • Open your dashboard → Services
  • Click on a service to edit

2. Scroll to Deposit Settings

You'll see the following options:
  • Require deposit (toggle) — Turn this on
  • Deposit type:
- Fixed amount (€) — e.g. €10 per booking - Percentage (%) — e.g. 25% of the treatment price
  • Amount — The amount or percentage

3. Mandatory or optional payment

  • Mandatory payment OFF — Customer can choose: pay now or pay at the salon
  • Mandatory payment ON — Customer must pay, otherwise no appointment

4. Save

Click Save. From now on, customers will see a payment screen when booking.

What does the customer see?

When booking, the customer sees:

  • The treatment cost
  • The deposit amount
  • A "Pay now" button (Stripe Checkout)
  • Optionally a "Pay later" option (if payment is not mandatory)

    Can I set a different amount per service? Yes, each service has its own deposit setting. What if the customer doesn't pay? If "Mandatory payment" is on, the customer cannot book without paying. If it's off, the appointment is still confirmed. Do I receive the money immediately? Yes, the money goes directly to your Stripe account and is paid out to your bank account according to your Stripe payout schedule.
